THEORETICAL EXERCISES FIRST EVALUATION

1. - What is strength as basic physical ability? How many types of strength are there? Explain them and give an example of each of them.

The strength is the physical ability to perform a physical job or a movement.
There are three types of strength:
  • Maxium strength: Is the maximum force a muscle can exert in a single maximalvoluntary contraction. It is used during weightlifting.
Resultado de imagen para levantamiento de pesas dibujo
  • Explosive strength: Explosive strength is the ability to exert maximal force in minimal time. To develop explosive strength and reactive ability you need to do two things. First, you must build your speed strength and second, in the same time frame, you must raise your absolute strength.

  • Endurance strength: The ability to maintain muscular contractions or a consisten level of muscle force for extended periods of time. Relies upon aerobic efficiency to supploxygen and nutrients to the working muscles while removing metalobic waste. Examples: An endurance event like a 10K, marathon or triarlon; doing yard work or orther vigorous household chores; high volume bodybuilding-type trainning.

2. - What is flexibility as basic physical capacity? What factors does flexibility depend on?
The flexibility is the ability that allows body movement in all its range.
The factors on which the elasticity depends are:
  • Joint mobility or movement possibilities of the joint: The characteristics of each articulation determine the amplitude of the movements that can be achieved in each one of them.
  • Muscle elasticity: The muscle subjected to a sufficient force yields and increases its length, once the cause that caused this lengthening has given way, the muscle returns to its primitive extension. This ability of the muscle to elongate and then return to its initial state, is what is called "elasticity".
  • Intermuscular cordination: In any movement, even when carried out with an objective of development of flexibility; This is the result of the joint participation of different muscle groups that must act in an orderly manner in terms of time and tension. If this were not so, the movement would not be synchronized, would be uncoordinated, and would reduce its amplitude by interferences, wihch would act as a brake, between the muscle groups. In any movement, even when carried out with an objective of development of flexibility; This is the result of the joint participation of different muscle groups that must act in an orderly manner in terms of time and tension. If this were not so, the movement would not be synchronized, would be uncoordinated, and would reduce its amplitude by interferences, which would act as a brake, between the muscle groups.
  • The age: Children are more flexible than adults, and this is because overtime, with the maturation of the subject, there is a progressive loss of extensibility of the muscles and ligaments.
3.- What is endurance as basic physical ability? How many types of endurance are there? Explain them and give an example of each of them.
Endurance is the ability to maintain physical effort for a long time.
  • Anaerobic endurence: Anaerobic endurence training focuses on physiological improvements in the ability of muscles to support the production of force through neuronal and metabolic mechanisms. It is done in a short time but at a lot of intensity. Example: 100m at your maxium speed.
  • Aerobic endurance: It is a training with less intensity than the anaerobic but much longer. Example: Rotate a circuit running at a normal speed.
4.- How can I improve my endurance? Explain two exercises to improve aerobic endurance.
Exercises:
  • Farleck: You run arround a rectangle for 20-30 minutes and run as fast as you can on the small side and jog on the long sides.
  • Swim: You swimming arround 20-30 minutes.

VOCABULARY OF ART

Colour is present in our daily lives everyday, from sunset. We all know what colour is, however it is some way difficult  to give a definition. We could say that colour doesn´t exist cause it totally depends on the light. If there´s no light there´s no colour.
Colour is actually a sensation or impression, it is thought our brain has when it receives information from the eyes. It travels throught the air electromagnetic waves. Those waves come from the light the object´s surfaces reflect.
So there are basically two types of colours: Colored Light, additive colour, is a little harder to understand and explain and it can be studied from the Physics area of knwoledge. Material colours, also called subtractive mixture, are easier to understand and are all of them based in colored pigments mixed with a binder, both of them are the main ingredients for any paint.
Colour Harmony studies all types and classification of colours as well as the ways to combine them in compositions.

ICE SKATING

Ice skating is the recreation and sport of gliding across an ice surface on blades fixed to the bottoms of skates. The activity of ice skating has given rise to two distinctive sports: figure skating, which involves the performance of various jumps, spins, and dance movements; and speed skating and short-track speed skating, both of which are forms of racing on ice skates.

Ice skating probably developed in Scandinavia as early as 1000 BCE, the first skates being made from shank or rib bones of elk, oxen, reindeer, and other animals.

There is a type of figure skating that is the most contemporary figure skating and consists in interpreting a piece of musical skating on an ice rink and doing pirouettes, turns, jumps and acrobatics. Later it is valued by some judges.

There are also more types of ice skating. Speed skating, short track- speed skating…

EGG TEMPERA:
Egg tempera is composed of egg yolk, powdered pigment, and distelled water. the egg yolk serves as the binder that holds the pigment together. The addition of water turns the paint into a usable paste-like form. Manufactured egg tempera also includes gums that act as dispersants.
Egg tempera is know for its linear qualities and capacity to produce jewel-like paintings. While it was once popular medium that reached its peak during the Renaissance, egg tempera fell out of favor with the rise of the more versatile oil paints.
Egg tempera ralies on cross-hatching and overals of glazing to achieve dimensionality.

POINTILLISM

Pointillism was a pictoral style that eerged in France in 1884 from post-impressionism. His technique consists in apply on the convas small dots of colours primary colours that are agreed and looked at from a different distance, it form in the eye a special efect.

Like post-impressionists, pointillism used nature as a motif but with a more cientific rigor from ideas of the critic and scholar of light Charles Blanc.

The main promoter and representative of pictoral pointillism was the french painter Georges Seaurat (1859-1891), who in 1884 founded the Société des Artistes Independants. There he become friends with Paul Signac, who shared pointillism ideas and techniques with him. He made his masterprice, "Tarde de Domingo en la isla de la tarde Jette".

Curly lines: They hold more curves than wavy lines and show loops.
Scribble: Chaotic or meaningless lines that are traced randomly, usually in first stages of children or ti fill in same area with a particular texture.
DEFINITION ABOUT THE PLANE OR FLAT SHAPE:
Plane: Also called shape in visual arts. It cuold be spot or brushstrolle. It´s a two-dimensional surface height and with but not depth, it has position and direction on the space.
The plane : Three dimensional capacity: One of the main goals of the plane consists on creating volume when several flat shapes get together in different directions.
Flat organic shapes: They follow natural principles and can take countless aparences.
Flat geometry shapes: They follow mathematical principles. In visual arts there are three main basic geometry shapes: circle square and triangle.

Star poligons: You get it joining constantly and NO consecutively the vertices of the regular poligons.
THE SYMETRY:
Symetry: It´s a quality of some of shapes wich same of their parts and reflections of others.
Reflection symetry: It´s a shape quality wich it´s formed by two halves facing each with an axis or between as if both sides were mirror images of each other.
Symetry axis: It´s line wich divides a shapes in towo symetrics halves.
Central symetry: It´s a reflection of an object throught a point called the symetry center. Every symetry point is on the other side and at same distance from the center of symetry.
Geometric symetry: It´s a kind of symetry wich follows accuarately the geometry rules.
Apparent symetry: It´s the qualityof shapes or obvious symmetry but not every point or element follows accuaretly the geometry symmetry rules it happens very frecuently in nature.
Symetrical balance: It´s away to organize parts of on image, picture or drawing so one side duplicates or mirrors the other.
BASIC ELEMENTS OF VISUAL PRESENTATION :
The dot: It´s the smallest and most simple element in art expressions. It´s first target is to indicate a position since it doesn´t follow any direction. It may have different qualities such as size, shape and color.
The dot three dimensional capacity: When the size, shapes and colors are changed, the dots can create visual sensations of special deepress and volume.
The dot expensive capacity: The point has unlinited capacity to represent images and to express ideas and emotions. To do so, visual effects are used.
Optical mixing: When colours are mixed with the help of distance. Point isn´t mixed on the palette or on the pointing. The optical mix was used first by the pointillist.
